Alex Greenwood and Lauren Hemp are back! Lionesses given massive boost ahead of Women's Euro 2025 as Man City pair return from injury spells

<p>City captain Greenwood and forward Hemp came off the bench in their side's<a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/jess-park-man-city-victory-lauren-hemp-assist-return-wsl-win-leicester-keep-women-s-champions-league-hopes-alive/blt396710a8ada76100" target="_blank"> 1-0 win at Leicester City </a>on Sunday in the Women's Super League, with the latter setting up Jess Park's decisive goal. After months out with respective knee injuries, the pair managed to come through this encounter unscathed. </p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>City have badly missed the talismanic duo in recent months but now they are back this is a relief for the WSL side and a big boost for England as they prepare for this summer's European Championships. </p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>Greenwood, 31, was <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/man-city-gareth-taylor-alex-greenwood-injury/bltca2919a18429bb94" target="_blank">stretchered off in City's Champions League victory over St Polten</a> in December and underwent surgery on her medial collateral ligament (MCL) as a result. While Hemp, 24, <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/lionesses-lauren-hemp-finally-man-city-return-after-five-months-out-knee-injury-huge-boost-england-euro-2025-hopes/blt97c2132cf68063d4" target="_blank">underwent knee surgery</a> in November and is only back playing this week.</p>
