<p>United have held small meetings with supporters to discuss potential plans for the club's proposed <a href="https://www.manutd.com/en/news/detail/statement-man-utd-confirms-ambition-to-build-a-new-stadium-at-old-trafford" target="_blank">new 100,000-capacity stadium</a>, which was announced in March. WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>According to <em>X</em> <a href="https://x.com/ohcheeseschrist/status/1946147340173103533?s=48&amp;t=9JIrRztA9ZpVi6MNIazdDg" target="_self">user Cheeses of Nazareth</a>, who has spoken with people present at the meetings, proposals such as paying up front for 15-year season tickets and a 'premium season ticket model' were discussed. Plans to dedicate up to 40 percent of capacity to hospitality and an 'American style' matchday experience - such as 360-degree screen bars and many smaller merchandising outlets dotted around the stadium - were also floated. </p>

<p><strong>GOAL</strong> has reached out to United for comment on the proposals and is awaiting a response.</p>

WHAT UNITED SAID

<p>The suggestions were criticised by responders, with one user, @Grav1968, calling it "the worst news I've heard" in 45 years of going to watch United. Another user, @JasonCamfield7, wrote: "Sad reality of what's coming."</p><p> </p>

<p>United representatives said in the meetings that the club were still hoping that the new stadium, which is expected to cost £2bn ($2.6bn) would open by 2030. Earlier this month the club said it was <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/man-utd-new-2bn-stadium-host-2035-womens-world-cup-final/blt314f8d3605c1a355" target="_blank">hoping that the new ground would host the final of the 2035 Women's World Cup</a>, which is set to be held in the United Kingdom.</p>
