Cameroon are set to play a friendly against Zambia in Saudi Arabia on January 9 before they begin their tournament campaign in Ivory Coast against Guinea on January 15. However, according to <a href="https://www.espn.co.uk/football/story/_/id/39198446/manchester-united-andre-onana-delay-afcon" target="_blank">ESPN</a>, the goalkeeper wants to play in United's FA Cup third round clash with Wigan on January 8.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Onana has endured a rocky start to life at Old Trafford since his £43 million summer move from Inter. The goalkeeper reportedly wants to limit his time away from the club as he continues to adapt to his new surroundings.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Onana retired from international duty in December 2022 after falling out with Cameroon manager Rigobert Song during the World Cup in Qatar. He returned to the fold in September.
