Negotiations remain ongoing, with Bayern determined to finalise the terms of a new deal that would secure the 29-year-old’s future at the Allianz Arena. The German giants have allegedly offered a renewal that would run until 2028, with an annual salary between €20 million (£17m/$21m) and €22m (£18m/$23m) gross.</p><p></p>

<p>Following Bayern’s dominant 3-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen in the first leg of their Champions League round-of-16 clash, Kimmich assured fans that he is looking to finalise his contract situation soon, ideally before the upcoming international break in March.</p><p>“A decision will definitely be made soon. The ball is not in my court. My plan was to do it before the international break. The club wanted it before the two Leverkusen games. I’m noticing that Max [Eberl] is honest and is fighting,” Kimmich told t-online’s Julian Buhl.</p><p>However, when asked about the status of Kimmich’s contract negotiations, Bayern’s honorary president Uli Hoeness remained tight-lipped, offering only a brief response.</p><p>"We only drank coffee," Hoeness said when questioned by <em>Sky</em>. When pressed for additional details, he declined to comment, adding: "I'm not saying anything about that. It’s not my job to talk to the press about it."</p>
