An own-goal from Catarina Macario in the 86th minute would reduce the deficit - but it was too little, too late for the Gunners.</p>

<p>Chelsea have now opened a six point gap on Arsenal in the Women's Super League following the win. Jonas Eidevall's side are in in third place on 34 points, with the Blues sitting pretty at the top of the table on 40. Manchester City split the two sides in second place on 37 points, with Arsenal's latest loss offering Gareth Taylor's side a huge boost - especially with the game in hand they possess.</p>
