<p>Per <a href="https://sportwitness.co.uk/fulham-star-a-surprise-target-for-club-bid-sent-contract-offer-has-representatives-particularly-interested/" target="_blank">Africa Foot</a>, Atletico are interested in signing Iwobi this summer as Diego Simeone seeks reinforcements across his squad. The club have already been heavily linked with <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/atletico-madrid-new-cristian-romero-move-expected-to-reject-tottenham-contract/blt320871ff97d74336" target="_blank">Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero</a> and are now reported to have made a €25 million (£21m/$29m) offer for Iwobi. </p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>The Fulham star enjoyed a strong season under Marco Silva, scoring nine goals and registering six assists in the Premier League as the west London club finished 11th in the table. Iwobi has three years left on his Fulham deal but Atletico are said to have offered him a four-year contract with an annual salary of €7m (£6m/$8m), which works out at around £115,000-per-week. </p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>Iwobi is a versatile presence who can play on both wings and centrally. He is an experienced international with 80 caps for Nigeria, and he has made a total of 77 appearances for the Cottagers. He was, of course, previously on the books of Arsenal, where he made 149 appearances. </p>

<p>It remains to be seen if Atletico will formalise their interest in Iwobi in the coming weeks. Given their interest in Romero, the midfielder may not be their priority. </p>
