Barcelona reach full agreement with Lamine Yamal on new long-term contract with Ballon d'Or bonus included

<p>Per <a href="https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1927084785500934570" target="_blank"><em>Fabrizio Romano</em></a>, Yamal has agreed to sign a new long-term contract that will keep him at Barcelona until June 2031. On Monday, the Catalan side reached a full agreement with Yamal's agent, Jorge Mendes, and the teenager is now expected to formally sign the deal on Tuesday.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Under the terms of the new deal, Yamal will see a significant rise in his wages. The 17-year-old will also receive several bonuses, including one if he wins the Ballon d'Or, according to <a href="https://www.espn.in/football/story/_/id/45334853/barcelona-lamine-yamal-new-deal-2031-sources" target="_blank"><em>ESPN</em></a>. It has also been reported that Yamal will <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/lamine-yamal-mega-contract-barcelona-wonderkid-club-highest-paid-player-new-deal-2030/blta0dc9e15d69c77a6#cs6d1cfd771cc887d1" target="_blank">become the highest-paid player in the squad</a>, surpassing Robert Lewandowski's salary of €33 million (£27m/$36m) a year.</p>

<p>Yamal had a sensational year with the Catalan giants as he scored 18 goals and provided 25 assists in 55 matches across all competitions. He played a key role in the Blaugrana winning a domestic treble and reaching the Champions League semi-finals.</p>
