<p>Kimmich, who is in the final few months of his Bayern Munich contract, is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal, despite the club proposing a renewal that would keep him at the club until 2028. The midfielder will pocket a salary in the range of €20-22 million (£16.5m-£18m/$21m-$23m) gross per year, but he is yet to accept the terms, according to <a href="https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/13318647/joshua-kimmich-arsenal-interested-in-signing-bayern-munich-midfielder-on-a-free-transfer-say-sky-in-germany" target="_blank"><em>Sky Germany</em></a>. Amid uncertainties over his contract, English giants <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/arsenal-joshua-kimmich-talks-potential-free-transfer-bayern-munich-contract/blt725b54f546cb6c48#cs2e43b9049cd1845a" target="_blank">Arsenal have been closely linked with a move for the German</a>, who can move to North London in the summer as a free agent. </p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Addressing Kimmich's situation after the <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/harry-kane-finally-win-trophy-bayern-impressive-win-stuttgart-instagram-bundesliga-title/blt640fe1810661cfb7" target="_blank">club's 3-1 win over Stuttgart</a> on Friday, sporting director Max Eberl said: "If the truth is out there in public, then that’s how it is. Generally, no one is above the club. If a player decides differently, then he decides differently. Then things will continue at FC Bayern.</p><p>"There were great players here at FC Bayern who eventually had to leave the club because they couldn't reach an agreement and their contracts ran out. Then it all just keeps happening. But we are not at that point. That was speaking very generally." </p>

WHAT MAX EBERL SAID

<p>Eberl added: "There is a lot of speculation. I have never commented on the interim results. I am not doing that now either, because that is not appropriate. We treat each other with great respect and we talk. What is important is how Josh and we as a club treat each other. That is on an equal footing and very respectful." </p>
