Ancelotti was <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/news/carlo-ancelotti-heading-to-brazil-cbf-reaches-agreement-real-madrid-boss-take-over-mens-national-team/blta9070130ff62b020" target="_blank">closely linked with the Brazil job</a> in the summer of 2023 as he was tipped to join the Selecao once his contract with Los Blancos expired in June 2024. However, the Italian <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/carlo-ancelotti-rejecting-brazil-lead-real-madrid-new-era-unprecedented-success/bltee3ea6e6b3644e53" target="_blank">signed a new deal with the club</a> in January this year that will now keep him at Santiago Bernabeu until 2026.

WHAT HAPPENED?

With the 64-year-old on the cusp of winning a record-extending fifth Champions League title of <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/best-manager-jobs-europe-2023-24-season-ranked/bltdfae13a94c1cc710" target="_blank">his illustrious managerial career</a> with the Spanish champions, he hinted that he could consider retirement after his existing Los Blancos contract expires.

Speaking to <a href="https://ge.globo.com/futebol/futebol-internacional/noticia/2024/05/28/carlo-ancelotti-revela-que-encerrara-sua-carreira-no-real-madrid.ghtml" target="_blank">La Repubblica</a>, the Real boss said: "I'm going to finish my career at Real Madrid, but first I want another Champions League. As long as Real Madrid wants me, I will be here at their disposal."

WHAT CARLO ANCELOTTI SAID

Ancelotti's side had a dream run in the 2023-24 campaign having won the Spanish Super Cup and La Liga trophies. They will now aim to win their 15th Champions League title on June 1 as they take on Borussia Dortmund at Wembley.
