<p>Celtic’s unbeaten run in the season was shattered in devastating fashion as Borussia Dortmund handed them a humbling 7-1 defeat in the UEFA Champions League. Daizen Maeda briefly provided hope for the Scottish champions, equalising after Emre Can’s early penalty. However, Celtic's relief was short-lived as Karim Adeyemi netted a hat-trick, and Serhou Guirassy added another spot-kick to give Dortmund a commanding 5-1 lead by half-time.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Courtesy of their dismal first-half performance, Celtic became the first British team to concede five goals in the first half of a game in a European competition since Cwmbran Town the 1997-98 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup match against Progresul Bucharest. Dortmund further added to their misery in the second half with Guirassy and Felix Nmecha rounding off the 7-1 demolition.</p>
