<p>McClean is known for his defiant attitude and hot head and the Irishman was at it again following<a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/wrexham-shrewsbury-promotion-hopes-suffer-blow-ryan-reynolds-rob-mcelhenney-side-suffer-shock-defeat-league-one-strugglers/bltfe5b73ee16bdd45f" target="_blank"> Wrexham's defeat to Shrewsbury on Thursday night</a>. The 35-year-old was on the receiving end of some stick from the home team's fans and even confronted them after the match. But after being prevented from getting too close to the spectators, the controversial midfielder took to social media and launched a brutal attack on those targeting him.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>The loss extends further than just personal frustration for McClean. Wrexham had the chance to go top of League One with a win against <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/news/wrexham-shrewsbury-rivalry/bltfd4d7c81a183b651" target="_blank">their cross-border rivals</a> but fell short. They are now two points behind Birmingham, who have played three games fewer than Phil Parkinson's side.</p>

<p>There has been no word on whether McClean will face any action for his post on social media, but as a professional who has spent a long time in the game, he will have his head down on the training pitch preparing for Wrexham's next match.
