A report from <a href="https://sport.sky.de/transfer/news/34132/13150788/fc-bayern-in-gespraechen-mit-levi-colwill-vom-fc-chelsea-sky-exklusiv" target="_blank">Sky Sport</a> in Germany suggests that initial talks over a deal for Colwill have already taken place. Bayern are also believed to have reached a verbal agreement with Tah, with a separate <a href="https://sport.sky.de/fussball/artikel/jonathan-tah-hinterlegt-wechselwunsch-zum-fc-bayern-bei-bayer-leverkusen/13150946/34252" target="_blank">Sky Sport</a> report explaining that the Germany international has now informed current club Bayer Leverkusen of his desire to make that move.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Both Tah and Colwill are left-sided centre-backs, yet it doesn't quite seem to be an either/or situation as Bayern look to strengthen their defensive depth and take into account possible summer departures of both Matthijs de Ligt and Dayot Upamecano. Eric Dier's initial short-term loan from Tottenham was made permanent in March.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Colwill made 32 appearances in his maiden season as a first-team with Chelsea following previous loans at Huddersfield Town and Brighton. The latter had been hoping for a permanent deal last summer, with reported interest also arriving from Liverpool.
