<p><a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/diogo-jota-likely-driving-excessive-speed-car-motorway-killing-liverpool-star-brother-spanish-police/blt73d7b4bd8d0cd6e8" target="_blank">Liverpool star Jota tragically passed away with his brother Andre Silva last week</a> in a car crash that has prompted an outpouring of grief throughout the football world. Neto and Jota were team-mates at Wolves and with the Portugal national team, with both in the squad that won the Nations League back in June.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Neto has helped Chelsea reach the Club World Cup final in the United States, with the Blues most recently beating Fluminense in New York, and the 25-year-old has revealed he wants to win the competition and dedicate the triumph to his friend.</p>

<p>Neto told reporters: “It’s been really difficult in the last few days and I just want to leave a message that this final is for him and his brother. </p><p>“It’s a really tough time for me, it’s difficult to speak about it and let’s hope I can do it for him. </p><p>“I want to dedicate this final to him and his family and show my support in these difficult times for them.”</p>

WHAT NETO SAID

<p>Neto and Jota played together for the last time in December last year during Portugal's 3-1 Nations League victory over Poland.</p>
