<p>Pulisic has been <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/why-usmnt-star-christian-pulisic-skipping-gold-cup-taylor-twellman-dax-mccarty-soap-opera-captain-america/blt8a23b2445305cd1e" target="_blank">criticised for not linking up with the USMNT team</a> for the Gold Cup but does not appear to regret his decision. He told the <a href="https://www.latimes.com/sports/soccer/story/2025-07-01/gold-cup-christian-pulisic-youth-academy-scocer" target="_blank"><em>Los Angeles Times</em></a> at the event: "This is kind of what I was, you know, born to do. Having this platform and being here to inspire, hopefully, the next generation and do this for kids, it’s special.”</p><p><strong></strong></p>

WHAT PULISIC SAID

<p>Pulisic opted out of the Gold Cup <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/why-pulisic-not-playing-for-usmnt-concacaf-gold-cup/bltb89aa24f349cfa80" target="_blank">saying he needed a break due to a gruelling schedule</a> and is clearly enjoying his vacation. Milan are due back for pre-season on Monday, July 7 and will then head to Asia and Australia for a tour and fixtures against Liverpool, Arsenal and Perth Glory.</p><p></p>
