<p>Melton, as a 23-year-old rookie on the LPGA Tour, was taking part in that event for the first time. She made the most of the opportunity to rub shoulders with the best in the world, but failed to make the cut after posting a disappointing score of +21 through her opening two rounds.</p>

<p>Melton did play a lot of soccer herself when growing up, while also showing promise in softball, but eventually opted to focus her attention on golf. It may be that she gets the chance to return the favour with Pulisic over the coming weeks and <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/video-ridiculous-christian-pulisic-weston-mckennie-gatecrashes-usmnt-photoshoot-copa-america/bltafacac332769664a" target="_blank">watch him in action at the Copa America – which will take place on U.S. soil</a> and gets underway on June 20.</p>
