<p>Randy Savvy, leader of the Compton Cowboys, attended a Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) match at Banc of California Stadium and was taken by the atmosphere. The street country music star had immersed himself in the team’s renowned fan culture and electric game-day atmosphere. The Black and Gold walked away as 2-1 winners on the night in a thrilling game against Liga MX’s reigning champions Club America, leaving fans and Savvy impressed.</p>

WHAT RANDY SAVVY POSTED

<p>Savvy is an artist and community leader best known for co-founding the Compton Cowboys. This collective of African-American horse riders aims to challenge stereotypes and preserve the rich history of black cowboys in America. Savvy is also a musician, blending hip-hop with country influences, and has named the music style street country as a result. He is also an advocate for urban equestrian culture and his work with the Compton Cowboys has gained national attention.</p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>LAFC's 2025 preseason concluded with their match against Club América, which they won 2-1. The team has faced several opponents in exhibitions ahead of its season opener, including MLS sides Chicago Fire and Portland United before its clash with Club América in their final friendly. LAFC's competitive season begins on Feb. 18, with their first CONCACAF Champions Cup match against the Colorado Rapids before they host Minnesota United in the opening game of their 2025 MLS season.</p>
