WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Ronaldo is enjoying his time off with his family during the short winter break in Saudi Arabia. Al-Nassr lost twice in their last three outings in the Saudi Pro League before the  break, which saw them slip to fourth in the league table. If the club fails to finish in the top three, they will miss out on a place in the AFC Champions League Elite league stage next season.</p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>The 39-year-old has been <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/cristiano-ronaldo-leaving-al-nassr-2025-cant-ruled-out-willing-embrace-new-project/blt07119cdfab26fe38#csb9204f23044aed72" target="_blank">linked with a move away from Al-Nassr</a> in the summer, which is when his current contract is due to expire, with a report from <em>Marca </em>claiming that his exit from the club cannot be ruled out.</p>

<p>Al-Nassr and Ronaldo will be back in action next week as they take on Al-Akhdoud in the Saudi Pro League on January 9, and Stefano Pioli's side will be desperate to pick up all three points.</p>
