<p>According to <a href="https://esportes.r7.com/prisma/blog-do-nicola/botafogo-e-o-clube-brasileiro-que-negocia-com-cristiano-ronaldo-27052025/" target="_blank">R7</a> journalist Jorge Nicola, Palace majority owner Textor has offered Ronaldo a percentage of the shares in his Eagle Football group - which controls Botafogo, Lyon, RWD Molenbeek, and FC Florida - and a significant percentage of 2025 FA Cup winners Palace. A host of clubs are now <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/this-chapter-is-over-cristiano-ronaldo-appears-confirm-al-nassr-exit-links-sporting-mls/blt37dcf16857669b62#csb5190fc4b8b77f83" target="_blank">clamoring for his signature,</a> and though it is not certain where the Portugal international will head next, he has no intention to retire just yet.</p>

<p>Textor's strategy has been tried before. For example, Al-Nassr reportedly tried to extend Ronaldo's contract, which expires at the end of June, by offering him a five per cent stake in the Saudi Pro League team, along with a bumper salary increase.</p>
