After conducting tests, the defender has been <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/lisandro-martinez-surgery-man-utd-defender-acl-injury-eight-months-out-stretchered-off-crystal-palace/blt4872ef8a9241ad8d#csd3d82b55ddf3ae3d" target="_blank">diagnosed with an anterior cruciate ligament tear</a>, according to <a href="https://www.tycsports.com/seleccion-argentina/lisandro-martinez-grave-lesion-parte-medico-seleccion-argentina-manchester-united-id632434.html" target="_blank"><em>TyCSports</em></a>, and will now go under the knife. The injury is likely to keep the Argentine out of action for at least eight months.</p>
