Per multiple reports, ex-Red Devils star De Gea, who has remained a free agent for over a year, is all set to join Serie A side Fiorentina this summer. The custodian has reportedly agreed personal terms with the Italian club as he considerably reduced his salary demand and is all set to earn €2 million (£1.6m/$2m) per season, according to <a href="https://www.gazzetta.it/Calcio/Calciomercato/Fiorentina/08-08-2024/fiorentina-preso-de-gea-il-contratto-e-terracciano-al-monza.shtml" target="_blank">La Gazzetta dello Sport</a>.

WHAT HAPPENED?

The 33-year-old was earlier linked <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/david-de-gea-new-club-man-utd-goalkeeper-transfer-genoa-collapses-salary-demands/blt591e1a757baffaba#cs4145145610ebf220" target="_blank">with a move to another Serie A club Genoa</a>, however, the deal reportedly collapsed due to his 'unrealistic salary expectations'. <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/david-de-gea-talks-two-saudi-pro-league-clubs-former-man-utd-star-considers-return-football-year/blt82d080b715636ada" target="_blank">Several Saudi Pro League</a> and MLS clubs were also keen on signing signing this summer, but none of the deals materialised.
