After all the hype, Wrexham have actually got their summer transfer window off to a fairly quiet start. Supporters are still waiting to greet their first new signing, despite the club being linked with a host of top players, including Gareth Bale.
Phil Parkinson offered a update on his recruitment recently, insisting that while the Red Dragons were not planning a squad overhaul this summer, they would "go all out" to secure their top targets. Once the spending does begin, it's likely that defence will be an area that is targeted for reinforcements.
While only two National League teams (Boreham Wood and Notts County) conceded fewer goals than Wrexham last season, the standard of attackers they will be facing is set to shoot up in League Two. Left wing-back is a particular area of concern, with competition required for the impressive Jacob Mendy, while more bodies at centre-back would be welcomed too.
