<p>Former Manchester United defender Neville formed part of the punditry team for NBC Sports' coverage of Arsenal’s recent Premier League clash with Brentford. Following a 1-1 draw at Emirates Stadium, the ex-England international said: "What's happened this season is I think they've gone backwards from the start of the season in terms of their recruitment. They never covered themselves for their likely injury to (Kai) Havertz, who was their only centre-forward."</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Former Middlesbrough midfielder Robbie Mustoe responded with: “I wouldn't agree that they have regressed. (Arteta) is getting closer, it was just a difficult season with injuries.” Neville went on to say that Arsenal are “always trying to be let off the hook” and have “'the worst attacking squad out of the top six”.</p>
