<p>Martinez has slowly but surely become one of the best shot-stoppers in the game after swapping Arsenal for Aston Villa in 2020, impressing in the Premier League while also helping Argentina win the 2022 World Cup. As such, the goalkeeper has often been linked with top clubs; however, the likelihood of the 32-year-old leaving Villa has never been higher than it is heading into this summer transfer window.</p>

While the Catalan giants have <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/barcelona-win-joan-garcia-race-la-liga-champions-beat-arsenal-man-city-espanyol-goalkeeper/blt0a9e9967ce54a823" target="_blank">decided to move for Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia</a>, the Red Devils still seem to be mulling a swoop for Martinez, and the Argentine has now broken his silence over his future.</p>

<p>Speaking to the media after reporting for international duty, Martinez said: "My future? I don’t know, I come here to play for the national team, and that’s the only thing that matters to me right now.</p><p>"Do I want to move to a new club? The transfer window just opened, so there’s still a long way to go."</p>

<p>For now, Martinez's focus will be on Argentina's upcoming World Cup qualifiers, despite the defending champions having already confirmed their spot in the 2026 tournament. However, after the two games against Chile and Colombia, Martinez will be free to make a final decision on his future.</p>
