The club’s current recruitment strategy is to buy quality players who can deliver immediate results and have the potential to develop themselves.</p>

Leverkusen, who have sold players like Kai Havertz and Moussa Diaby in the past, cashed in on not only Wirtz but also Jeremie Frimpong this summer, generating a lot of revenue which could bolster their transfers in the coming weeks.</p>
