<p>Fulham manager Marco Silva was keen to hold on to Willian after he scored five goals and provided two assists in 37 appearances across all competitions for Fulham last season - as per <a href="https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/30220148/arsenal-transfer-news-chelsea-willian-fulham-olympiacos/" target="_blank"><em>The Sun</em></a>. The west London club even offered him a new one-year contract but the forward chose to find a fresh challenge instead of continuing in the Premier League.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Willian passed his medical in Piraeus before signing a one-year contract with the reigning Europa Conference League winners. Apart from Willian, Jose Luis Mendilibar is eager to bolster his squad with further reinforcements and has been linked with another former Chelsea player, Hakim Ziyech. <p>Willian joined Chelsea from Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala in 2013 and went on to enjoy a highly successful seven-year spell at Stamford Bridge, winning two Premier League titles, the League Cup, the FA Cup, and the Europa League. In 2020, he joined Arsenal but could produce only one goal and seven assists in 37 appearances during his single season in north London before parting ways with the club.</p>
