<p>Wirtz will soon join Liverpool and could break the Premier League's record for the highest transfer fee, as the <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/liverpool-agree-gbp100m-florian-wirtz-gbp16m-in-add-ons-revealed/blt7f07c46e90282564#cs7495a66d93134ff1" target="_blank">Reds are set to pay £100 million ($135.7m) with £16 million ($21.7m)</a> in add-ons to Bayer Leverkusen. However, his soon-to-be team-mate Elliott believes that Chelsea star and his former England Under-21 co-star, Palmer, has the edge over the German.</p>

WATCH THE CLIP

<p>While Wirtz will almost certainly join Elliott at the AXA Training Centre in Kirkby for pre-season, it is highly likely that the latter will not be a Reds player for much longer. Ironically, Wirtz's arrival will force him through the exit, as <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/wasting-years-harvey-elliot-opens-door-liverpool-exit-bemoans-lack-minutes-arne-slot/bltecef299a1f9428e0" target="_blank">the out-of-favour midfielder is linked with a departure</a> having said he does not want to warm the bench.
