In an attempt to secure the ball, the Italian goalkeeper launched himself forward, but in the process, <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/furious-bayern-chief-blasts-gianluigi-donnarumma-jamal-musiala-stretchered-off-serious-looking-injury-club-world-cup/bltb5abfa67c106d49c" target="_blank">Musiala’s leg was caught awkwardly</a> underneath Donnarumma’s body.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>As Musiala hit the ground, his foot appeared to be <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/vincent-kompany-furious-bayern-munich-star-jamal-musiala-horror-injury-club-world-cup/blte9ff0e3a6f449461" target="_blank">unnaturally twisted at the ankle</a>, a sight that left the players terrified. Medical personnel rushed to the scene while Bayern players stood frozen in disbelief.</p><p>Perhaps no one was more emotionally affected than Donnarumma himself. The 26-year-old goalkeeper appeared devastated by the accidental nature of the collision. Cameras captured him on one knee with tears streaming down his face, his gloves covering his expression as team staff tried to console him on the sidelines.</p>
