WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Despite the star power backing the team from the stands, the <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/lewis-brunt-blunder-wrexham-red-dragons-relegation-cambridge-united-james-mcclean-steven-fletcher/blta593981fa681bd8e" target="_blank">Welsh club failed to secure a win</a> against a team who are struggling at the bottom half of the league table. Phil Parkinson's side conceded an early goal but did well to secure the lead through James McClean and Steven Fletcher's strikes. However, a blunder from defender Lewis Brunt in the dying minutes of the match allowed the visitors to equalise from the penalty spot and snatch away a point. </p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>Wrexham, who were tied on points with league leaders Wycombe Wanderers until the start of the current gameweek, have now dropped to the third position on the league table and are two points behind the leaders. </p>
