<p>As reported by the <a href="https://x.com/_kochmaximilian/status/1899076607194624130" target="_blank"><em>Abendzeitung</em></a>, Aleksandar Pavlovic will not only miss the Champions League round of 16 second leg against Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday but also the Bundesliga game against Union Berlin, as well as the two Nations League quarter-final ties against Italy on March 20 and 23, respectively. It is hoped that he will be able to rejoin training after the international break. The 20-year-old is suffering from a massive viral infection. </p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>As expected, the 20-year-old was absent from the Bavarian giants' final training session on Monday. The club had already announced last Friday that Pavlovic would be "unavailable until further notice due to a persistent infection." For the same reason, Pavlovic also missed the last two league games against Stuttgart and Bochum. </p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>In addition to Pavlovic, coach Vincent Kompany will also have to replace the injured captain Manuel Neuer, who has a torn calf muscle, against Leverkusen. Jonas Urbig will be in the Bayern goal to deputise for the 38-year-old. The 21-year-old celebrated his Champions League debut in the 3-0 home win in the first leg against rivals Bayer Leverkusen last week, coming on for the injured Neuer.  </p><p></p><p></p><br>
