WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Russo spent the <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/alessia-russo-drops-ibiza-photo-dump-star-studded-holiday-with-lionesses-team-mates-ella-toone-beth-mead/blt3faf7899e48d2c4e" target="_self">first part of her summer break</a> with England teammates Ella Toone and Beth Mead, with the trio visiting Ibiza. The trip was also vlogged for social media, with footage shared of their parties on the Spanish island.</p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>Russo was Arsenal's top scorer last season in the WSL as they finished third and won the League Cup for the second time in a row. The Gunners had signed Russo on a free transfer from rivals Manchester United despite the 25-year-old having been the subject of world-record bids during her time at her former club.</p>

<p>Russo and Arsenal will kick off their new WSL season on September 22 against Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium. The ground will become Arsenal Women's main home for league games going forward.</p>
