<p>Alexander-Arnold has announced his departure from Liverpool after winning the Premier League and is now poised to complete a free transfer to Real Madrid. There has been a predictable backlash to the right-back's decision, with <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/jamie-carragher-liverpool-fans-right-feel-upset-trent-alexander-arnold-exit-real-madrid-move/bltbfb4994853cfaea6" target="_blank">Reds fans hurt that he has made the decision to head to Spain</a>. </p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Alexander-Arnold has won everything there is to win at Anfield during his spell in the first-team. He is now a two-time Premier League champion, and has also won the Champions League, the FA Cup, the League Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup. Wright, as a result, is not surprised he has decided to bring down the curtain on his time on Merseyside.</p>

You can't begrudge him the move. It's an amazing move for him."</p><p>Ian Wright added: "Did you see his statement? It was beautiful, he spoke with such eloquence simply because he's come to a point where it's not about them being better, it's just on his journey. It's just the next step. Honestly, I'm delighted for him. Roy, I remember you saying, if you could think back, if you had the chance, if that opportunity came would I take it? I cannot understand that people are not excited about the fact he's won everything he can win there, and now he's going to arguably one of the best in the world."</p><p>Wright continued: "It's like people can't be happy for the fact that he's come from here and he's going there." </p>
