WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Aguero and Messi played together for Argentina for 15 years, before the former was forced to retire just after he had signed for Barcelona due to a heart condition. They remain close off the field, hence Messi's reply on Instagram.</p>

<p>Aguero's son, Benjamin, is Messi's godson, a demonstration of how close they are. Aguero joined Barcelona in the same summer that Messi left, however, so they never actually played together at club level.</p>
