Jarell Quansah bursts out laughing at Erik ten Hag joke after joining Bayern Leverkusen from Liverpool

<p><a href="https://www.goal.com/en-au/lists/jarell-quansah-explained-why-joined-bayer-leverkusen-liverpool-defender-erik-ten-hag-transfer/bltcfeac9c0357d72be" target="_blank">Quansah has left Liverpool and signed for Leverkusen</a> on a deal that runs until 2030. He will work under Ten Hag with the Bundesliga side and arrives after helping England's <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/england-under-21s-player-ratings-vs-germany-jonathan-rowe-james-mcatee/bltd553bfa62ceec070" target="_blank">Under-21s win the Euros by beating Germany in the final</a>. Leverkusen shared some footage of Ten Hag welcoming Quansah to the club on the club's <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEqEWmVChqo" target="_blank">YouTube</a> channel and let slip how he greeted the England star with a joke.</p><p></p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>He said in reference to the Euro final: “Congrats for winning! And for beating the Germans! Very good!” The remark went down well with Quansah who was spotted laughing as he met his new manager.</p>

WHAT TEN HAG SAID

<p>Of course, the comment may not go down too well with Leverkusen fans who saw Germany beaten 3-2 by the Young Lions after extra-time. </p><p>Yet  Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes is certainly glad to Quansah on board. He told the club's media: "He has already made an impressive impact in a Liverpool defence dominated by world-class players. With Jarell, our defence gains significant dynamism, pace and toughness in tackling, and he's another very important building block for the future."</p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>Quansah will now get to know his new team-mates ahead of the start of the new season. Leverkusen's first game is against Sonnenhof Großaspach in the first round of the DFB-Pokal before an opening Bundesliga fixture against Hoffenheim.</p><p></p>
