Barca dropped points yet again on Sunday evening, letting an early lead slip and <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-us/lists/barcelona-player-ratings-vs-granada-lamine-yamal/bltff4cd72ba9867da8" target="_blank">eventually settling for a chaotic 3-3 draw with 19th-placed Granada</a>. The result reportedly drew the ire out of Laporta in the Blaugrana director's box, as he angrily threw a tray of Canapes, according to <a href="https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/detalles-enfado-monumental-laporta-palco-98078914" target="_blank">Relevo</a>.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Barca haven't improved much <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-us/lists/winners-losers-of-xavi-barcelona-resignation-robert-lewandowski-real-madrid/blte0a13159a14ef828" target="_blank">in the weeks since Xavi announced his intent to leave the club at the end of the campaign</a>. Although they beat both Alaves and Osasuna in early February, performances have failed to convince.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

The hunt for Xavi's successor is yet to start in full, <a href="https://www.football-espana.net/2024/02/12/the-deco-statements-that-have-barcelona-fans-calling-for-his-sacking-and-the-fallout" target="_blank">but sporting director Deco</a> admitted that it won't be an easy job to hire for: “We have a serious financial problem on our hands and that was one of the reasons why they hired me. We do not have money for the investments that other million-dollar clubs make and that discourages any coach. At this moment we cannot provide these means.”

WHAT DECO SAID

Things don't get any easier for Barca from here. After a Liga clash against Celta Vigo, they travel to Italy to face Napoli for the first leg of their tricky Champions League round of 16 tie. <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-us/lists/xavi-sacked-resignation-barcelona-president-joan-laporta/bltbc5f039351320542" target="_blank">Laporta is reportedly not considering relieving Xavi of his duties early</a>.
