Gomez looked set to join Newcastle in a £45m deal, with Gordon heading the other way for £75m ($96m). The Mail's report claims Gomez has interest from Saudi Arabia, although the 27-year-old's experience and versatility will make him an attractive option for a number of clubs seeking to bolster their defence.
