<p>The Swede took charge of the Gunners in 2021 and has taken in 120 games at the helm, winning 80 of those fixtures. He guided the north London outfit to League Cup success in back-to-back seasons, but has stepped down after <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/crisis-arsenal-jonas-eidevall-must-win-chelsea-clash-disappointing-wsl-womens-champions-league/blt7da559fe29cbbae5" target="_blank">picking up just one victory and five points from five games in the WSL</a> this term.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>With <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/jonas-eidevall-questions-arsenal-future-chelsea-emirates-stadium/blt74870df4ef52bb29" target="_blank">Eidevall opting to walk away</a>, Arsenal have revealed that first team assistant coach Renne Slegers will be handed first-team reins on an interim basis. A statement from the club says that “the search for a new head coach is underway and we will make a further announcement when that process is complete”.</p>

Our focus will now turn to the process of appointing a new Head Coach, and in the meantime, supporting Renee, as she takes interim charge of the team starting with two important fixtures this week.”</p>
