WHAT HAPPENED?

The protest group kept their response short, snappy and fierce, <a href="https://twitter.com/JustStop_Oil/status/1781019132122562750" target="_blank">reacting to a meme</a> of a man holding up a '0' sign with the line: 'Trophies won by Spurs in the last decade'. Ouch.

WHAT JUST STOP OIL SAID

For a group focused on spreading their message about the climate crisis in as loud and as controversial a way as possible, viral moments like these are always useful. Spurs haven't risen to the bait so far, but any more ribbing about their trophy haul and maybe they'll be forced to reply.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Just Stop Oil have been able to disrupt numerous professional games partly due to donations from the public. Outside of the social media team, it's unlikely anyone at Spurs will be worried about this online ribbing; they've got a seriously difficult Premier League run-in to focus on. With fifth spot highly <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/premier-league-arsenal-defeat-to-bayern-munich-four-champions-league-places-english-teams/blt90a02f38d07230cb" target="_blank">unlikely to guarantee Champions League qualification</a>, they'll need a strong finish to the campaign.
