WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Lille announced that the French youth international had signed with the club on a three-year deal until the summer of 2027. It is Ethan's first professional contract as he had been kept on a youth contract with PSG and only featured five times with Les Parisiens. As per <a href="https://www.losc.fr/actualites/2024-07-04/ethan-mbappe-un-nouveau-talent-pour-le-losc-de-demain" target="_blank">Lille's official communication</a>, Ethan has been handed the number 29 jersey for his first season away from Les Parisiens.  </p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>Speaking to the club media following his contract signing, Ethan said: "I am very happy to join the LOSC. I look forward to starting this adventure and meeting my new teammates, the staff, as well as the supporters. For me, at my age, staying in France was the best option to progress. I think LOSC was the best project. It is one of the best in France. It's a real pride to be able to play here." </p>

WHAT ETHAN MBAPPE SAID

<p>While at Parc des Princes, the 17-year-old was always viewed in the shadows of his elder brother's achievements and he will hope that their parting of ways will finally allow him to make a name for himself. </p>
