<p>Mbappe missed Madrid's 3-3 draw with Rayo Vallecano on Saturday due to a thigh injury and was <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/real-madrid-kylian-mbappe-injury-french-striker-first-half-of-atalanta-win/blt46546f2b447212c1" target="_blank">expected to miss the clash against Pachuca in Qatar on Wednesday</a>. Madrid included him in the squad to travel to Doha, however, and he was <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/kylian-mbappe-boost-real-madrid-intercontinental-cup-final-world-cup-winner-training-trophy-bid/blt5f0d45a5cbb51aa2" target="_blank">back in training with his team-mates on Monday</a>. </p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Ancelotti says the France international is in good shape on the eve of the match against the Mexican side, but will wait for a verdict from the club doctors before he makes a decision on his role. </p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>"It's simple: yesterday he trained well, he felt good. He did some sprints and everything went well," he told reporters. "Today is an important training session, where we will evaluate his feelings and the risk. If he is fine, after speaking with the doctors, he will play. If there is a minimal risk, obviously not. But his feelings yesterday were very good. We are optimistic." </p>

WHAT ANCELOTTI SAID

<p>Mbappe has scored 12 goals in 22 games for Madrid this season and will hope to help his side to the Intercontinental Cup title this week. </p>
