<p>LA Galaxy and Toluca are set to face off on Oct. 1 in the 2025 Campeones Cup, a clash between the reigning champions of MLS and Liga MX. The match will take place at Dignity Health Sports Park in Los Angeles.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Toluca earned their spot in the annual showdown after a convincing 3-1 win over Club América in the Campeón de Campeones, a victory that also marked their fifth title in that competition. LA Galaxy, meanwhile, secured their place in the match as the reigning MLS champions.</p><p>Tickets for the match will go on sale starting July 22.</p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>The Campeones Cup was launched in 2018 as a showdown between the champions of MLS and Liga MX. Since its inception, the trophy has been lifted three times by MLS clubs and three times by Liga MX sides.</p><p>However, the last two editions were won by Mexican teams - Tigres and América - meaning LA Galaxy will be aiming to bring the title back to the United States for the first time since 2022, when NYCFC defeated Atlas.</p>
