<p>La Liga president Tebas has issued a new warning to Barcelona, insisting that the club is not in a financial position to register Athletic Club star Nico Williams. At the same time, Tebas has stirred further controversy by calling for disciplinary action against Real Madrid for their <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/real-madrid-boycott-copa-del-rey-final-skip-press-conference-training-session-demand-referee-barcelona/blt74eff4c0406fb621" target="_blank">blunt criticism of referees on their channel Real Madrid TV</a>.</p>

<p>Barca and Madrid, easily the top two Spanish clubs, have been at a war of words with the league president over the past 12 months. <p>Speaking at the Spanish football federation's (RFEF) event on Tuesday, ahead of the unveiling of the domestic schedule for the 2025-26 season, Tebas blasted Real Madrid. He said: "They should be sanctioned for the Real Madrid TV videos. Now it will be up to the Supreme Court to make the decision, but we'll see. The Supreme Court is there, and we all know what's going on."</p><p>On Barca's financial situation, Tebas added: “As of today, Barca would not be able to register Nico Williams. The registration period for players started today, and right now I wouldn't be able to do it."</p>
