<p>MLS is home to more of the highest valued soccer franchises than any other league in global soccer, according to <a href="https://www.sportico.com/feature/soccer-teams-football-club-ranking-list-1234721408/" target="_blank"><em>Sportico's</em></a><em> </em>annual rankings. North America's top flight has 19 of the top 50, and five of the top 20, eclipsing every other top division in world football. </p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Ranked at No. 16 in the world, LAFC is the most valuable MLS franchise with a valuation of $1.28B, with Inter Miami ($1.19B), LA Galaxy ($1.1B), Atlanta United ($1.08B) and NYCFC ($1B) all in the top 20.</p><p>The number is a slight decline from the mark of 20 from the 2024 rankings. However, club values have ballooned since then, with LAFC going from $1.15B to $1.28B in the space of 12 months.</p><p>MLS can’t match the revenue of top European clubs, but it has the advantage on cost controls, modern stadiums and a single-entity structure that fosters ownership collaboration. The lack of relegation also sets a floor for MLS values that has risen dramatically over the past decade.</p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>The top 50 richest soccer clubs in the world have a combined value of $86B. Real Madrid lead the way with a valuation of $6.53B, significantly more than second-placed Manchester United, who are valued at $6.09B.</p>
