Legendary ex-AC Milan manager Arrigo Sacchi plots sensational return to management at the age of 78 and 24 years after his last job as two-time European Cup winner reveals offers from Spain, Brazil and Argentina

<p>Sacchi has revealed he has proposals to reignite his coaching career in Brazil, Argentina and Spain, having not managed since leaving Parma in 2001. The Italian is most well known for his spell at AC Milan between 1987-91 but had been assumed to be retired. </p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Sacchi is heralded as among the greatest coaches of all time, known for believing in the Total Football methodology and coaching a hard-working but fluent style. He won back-to-back European Cups with Milan in 1989 and 1990, also winning a Serie A title, and was within a penalty shoot-out of winning the World Cup with Italy in 1994. </p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>Of his offers to return to the game, Sacchi told <a href="https://www.adnkronos.com/sport/arrigo-sacchi-ritorno-allenare-italia-esterno-proposte-annuncio_3uRVc3NJmNLsVN12dBc70u" target="_blank">Adnkronos</a>: "I have many but I don't know if I'll do it in Italy. I'm thinking about returning to coaching. They ask me to go for example to Brazil, Argentina and Spain. And many others."</p>

WHAT SACCHI SAID

<p>A return to football for Sacchi would undoubtedly be a tantalising prospect, particularly were he to come up against some of the modern day's most innovative coaches. A return to Italy is also a possibility, though Sacchi says that he "has a flaw" in that he "says what I think", which could make him unpopular in the country. </p>
