<p>Prominent <a href="https://siphillipstalkschelsea.substack.com/p/sources-chelsea-broadly-agree-personal?utm_source=post-email-title&amp;publication_id=111900&amp;post_id=164984512&amp;utm_campaign=email-post-title&amp;isFreemail=false&amp;r=1uof0a&amp;triedRedirect=true&amp;utm_medium=email" target="_blank">Chelsea journalist Simon Phillips</a> claims that Enzo Maresca's side have 'broadly agreed personal terms' with Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike after another round of talks with his agents. This comes a matter of hours after the <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/liam-delap-personal-terms-chelsea-30m-transfer-ipswich-six-year-contract/blte508ea5f1aff81f7" target="_blank">Blues agreed personal terms with Delap</a> ahead of a £30 million ($41m) transfer to Stamford Bridge.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Phillips adds Ekitike will cost a whopping £80m ($108m) to sign this summer, amid competition from <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/liverpool-in-talks-sign-eur100-million-hugo-ekitike-ahead-of-chelsea-arne-slot-keen-admirer-eintracht-frankfurt-striker/blt68652c33eef18e89" target="_blank">Liverpool</a> and <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/arsenal-break-bank-hugo-ekitike-command-eur100m-this-summer-premier-league-clubs-battle-sign-eintracht-frankfurt-star/blt3e9abf04126e3e6a" target="_blank">Arsenal</a>. Chelsea have been targeting a new number nine for a while and if they signed Delap and Ekitike, that would be some going. </p>

<p>The report adds that Chelsea are trying to get a reduction on that hefty fee and the west London team are getting 'increasingly confident' a deal for 6ft 3in Ekitike, who scored 22 goals and added 12 assists for Frankfurt this season, could be struck. </p>

DID YOU KNOW?

<p>With the summer transfer window now underway, at least until June 10 before opening again on June 16, bids may start flooding in for Ekitike but whether Chelsea can sign the 22-year-old remains to be seen.</p>
