<p>Per <a href="https://x.com/JacobsBen/status/1945421385540477426" target="_blank">Ben Jacobs</a> of <em>talkSPORT</em>, Liverpool are in advanced talks to land Wright from Salford. The 17-year-old has also attracted interest from Manchester City, and scored over 40 goals at academy level last season. He also played against City in the FA Cup.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>The Reds are understood to be attempting to negotiate a six-figure fee for Wright, and are the only club in advanced negotiations to sign the forward, despite rival interest. Salford, of course, are now owned by a consortium led by Manchester United legends Beckham and Neville; they may be loathe to sell to the Reds, but it remains to be seen if they would willingly block his path.</p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>Wright has already made three senior appearances for Salford, playing 67 minutes in League Two. He has not scored a senior goal yet, but his prolific youth exploits are drawing admiring glances. </p>
