Liverpool moved back to the top of the Premier League table for at least the next 48 hours after they secured a 2-0 win at Burnley that was far closer than it should have been given how much the Reds dominated their hosts.
Darwin Nunez proved to be the match-winner as he curled in a superb strike from 20 yards inside the first 10 minutes to end a 12-match drought. From there, Jurgen Klopp's side attacked relentlessly, but struggled to find a second goal to give them comfort.
Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford made a string of excellent saves while Mohamed Salah struck the bar and both Cody Gakpo and Harvey Elliott had goals disallowed either side of half-time. At the other end, Burnley had spells of pressure, but never really tested Alisson Becker before the returning Diogo Jota stepped off the bench to seal the points with a goal from a tight angle.
