Liverpool's title credentials have been questioned by some despite their strong start to the season, but Jurgen Klopp's side showed some steel on Saturday as they came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw at Manchester City, ending the Premier League champions' 23-game winning run at home in the process.
The Reds started brightly, and Ederson was forced into a decent save to deny Darwin Nunez a headed opener. At the other end, though Alisson Becker was struggling with the ball at the his feet, presenting opportunities to both Phil Foden and Erling Haaland in the process.
And it was another error from the goalkeeper that proved costly for City's goal, as his poor clearance was seized upon by Nathan Ake, who fed Haaland to finish into the bottom corner, though Alisson may feel he should have saved the shot too.
City believed they had made it 2-0 midway through the second half, but Ruben Dias saw his tap-in disallowed for a foul on Alisson by Manuel Akanji. And Liverpool took advantage of their lucky break, as Alexander-Arnold arrowed a shot from the edge of the area into the bottom corner to silence the home crowd and rescue a point.
