City Football Group, the company that owns the club, released its latest accounts which show the whopping £30.6m sum City spent on legal fees up to the end of the 2023-24 season - an increase of almost £11m spent the previous year.</p>

A verdict is expected in the coming weeks, with many calling for the Premier League giants to be <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/man-city-expulsion-vote-how-many-clubs-need-back-demotion-premier-league-unable-bin-reigning-champions-ffp-case/blt65269f275e0d761b" target="_blank">given a severe punishment should they be found guilty,</a> going so far as to demand they be relegated from the top-flight.</p>
