<p>Seven supporters groups have written a joint letter to CEO Khaldoon Al Mubarak urging the club to not increase season ticket prices for next season. The letter noted that season tickets in all areas of the Etihad Stadium had increased by at least 15 percent since the 2021-22 season, despite the club <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/man-city-announce-record-breaking-revenue-brand-valued-higher-rivals-man-utd/blt75acb3959725395c" target="_blank">making record revenues</a>.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>"Manchester City supporters may be priced out of supporting their side due to the club's ticketing policy decisions - whether through financial hardship or that they simply deem a season card no longer value for money," read the letter. "Some have already suffered this fate. This is an extremely difficult decision for individuals to make. By making it practically impossible to obtain a standard season ticket, ticketing policy decision makers at Manchester City are severing the generational link between fans and their club."</p><p></p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>City have made a profit for each season since 2014-15 apart from in the pandemic-affected 2019-20 campaign, making massive profits in excess of £70 million ($87m) in the last two years. The letter added: "In this instance we believe that you can have your cake and eat it. We do not need to extract excessive and ever-increasing revenue from loyal supporters."</p>

DID YOU KNOW?

<p>City have been working on expanding the Etihad Stadium by building a third tier on the North Stand, raising capacity to 60,000. The work will be completed by the start of next season but it remains to be seen whether the increased capacity will be accompanied by increased ticket prices.</p>
