With emotions already high after a cagey and tense 90 minutes, Maguire and Romero's on-field confrontations spilled over once the whistle blew, prompting staff and players to step in and separate them before things escalated.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Throughout the second half, Maguire and Romero were frequently seen grappling during corners and free-kicks. Their duel was physical, with off-the-ball jostling increasing in intensity as the game wore on. In the closing minutes, United threw bodies forward in a last-ditch bid to force extra time, even sending Maguire up front.</p><p>In one such aerial battle, the England international collided with <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/tottenham-player-ratings-vs-man-utd-europa-league-final-brennan-johnson-micky-van-de-ven/blt5503ac1eb0012125" target="_blank">Romero and was penalised for a foul.</a> Romero stayed down, buying precious seconds for his side while Maguire received a yellow card - a moment that further fuelled the defender's irritation.</p>
